Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan for provision of report
   • Establish timelines to meet report deadlines and data requirements
   • Communicate timelines to stakeholders
2. Prepare report
   • Gather organisational operating cost information from relevant sources and financial management information systems
   • Draft the report
   • Identify and investigate any anomalies within the report, seeking clarification from subject matter experts
   • Make necessary amendments to report
   • Prepare final report
3. Submit and distribute report
   • Submit report for approval
   • Distribute approved report

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and include: analysing data and information for reports engaging with stakeholders identifying significant variances and communicating those variances to key stakeholders managing work to established timelines preparing and consolidating reports using high level written communication validating data against authoritative sources.

Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and include knowledge of: key organisational operating cost information required, common financial report formats and typical quality indicators key requirements for management reporting relevant legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
